Our Physicians
DR. GENNARO F. PASQUARIELLO received a BS in chemistry from St. Louis University in 1959. He attended the University of Bologna School of Medicine in Bologna, Italy (1966). He did his internship at St. Joseph's Hospital in Providence, RI in 1968 and completed his residency training at Rhode Island Hospital in 1972. Dr. Pasquariello has been with Atwood Pediatrics since 1972.
DR. MARC W. DIAMOND FAAP (www.aap.org) received a BA in biology from Brown University in 1981. He attended Brown University School of Medicine (1984) and completed his residency training at Rhode Island Hospital in Providence, RI in 1987. Dr. Diamond has been with Atwood Pediatrics since 1987 and is board certified in Pediatric and Adolescent Medicine by the American Board of Pediatrics (www.abp.org) since 1988. He is also an assistant clinical professor of pediatrics for the Brown University School of Medicine.
DR. JOHN A. SANACORE FAAP (www.aap.org) received a BA in biology from Harvard University in 1980. He attended the University of Cincinnati School of Medicine (1986) and completed his residency training at The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia in Philadelphia, PA in 1989. Dr. Sanacore has been with Atwood Pediatrics since 1989 and is board certified in Pediatric and Adolescent Medicine by the American Board of Pediatrics (www.abp.org) since 1990. He is also an assistant clinical professor of pediatrics for the Brown University School of Medicine.
DR. JANIS L. BACCARI FAAP (www.aap.org) received a BA in biology from Boston University in 1991 and participated in BU's early selection program, the Modular Medical Integrated Curriculum. She attended the Boston University School of Medicine (1995) and completed her residency training at Rhode Island Hospital/Hasbro Children's Hospital in Providence, RI in 1998. Dr. Baccari has been with Atwood Pediatrics since 1998 and is board certified in Pediatric and Adolescent Medicine by the American Board of Pediatrics (www.abp.org) since 1998. She is also an assistant clinical professor of pediatrics for the Brown University School of Medicine.

DR. CARL F DE LUCA (EMERITUS) was the founder of Atwood Pediatrics in 1964 which was incorporated in 1972. Dr. De Luca retired from practice in 2001. He received a BS from the University of Rhode Island in 1954 and received his MD degree from the University of Bologna School of Medicine in 1959. He completed his residency training at Rhode Island Hospital and was the chief resident in 1962. Dr. De Luca has left an indelible mark on the pediatric community of Rhode Island. Not only was he loved by his patients, but highly respected by his colleagues in medicine and in the business community. His “renaissance man” personality and love of life has forever touched us all.
